The Constitution of Star Trek

The Constitution of Star Trek
We, the people of Star Trek, for the better interest of the people, prosperity, security, and liberty, solemnly establish this Constitution. This is the official Constitution of the region of Star Trek.
Article I:
The region of Star Trek is governed by three branches: The Executive, a Unicameral Legislature, and the Judiciary.
Section 1: The Executive
Clause 1: The Executive Branch is divided into the Head of State and the
Chief Executive. The Head of State is the founder. The Chief
Executive is the Regional Delegate.
Clause 2: The Head of State is not elected by the people. He represents
the Internal Affairs of the region. His duties include, but not
limited to, proposing regional policy, setting a good example for
the region, and increasing the prosperity of Star Trek.
Clause 3: The Chief Executive is elected by the majority of natives who
have membership in the United Nations. He represents the
foreign interests of Star Trek on the world stage. He proposes
policy to be debated on by the natives of Star Trek and cases a
vote in the United Nations. He can also propose issues to the
United Nations. The delegate is elected bi-monthy with elections
occuring on the first of every even-month (February, April, etc.)
Clause 4: Should a Chief Executive be unable to fullfill their respective
duties, he can be impeaches by 75% majority from the legislature
If impeached, emergency elections would take place to complete
the term.
Clause 5: A Head of State can only be replaced only if he ceased to exist.
Should that occur, the Chief Executive assumes a dual role, and
subsequently, the duties of both jobs.
Clause 6: The Executive Branch has officers that work under it. They
include the Ambassador and the Intelligence Director.
Sub-section 6A: The ambassador is elected by a majority of the natives.
The term lastsfor two months and elections are held bi-monthly
every odd month. The duties of the Ambassador include the
following, while familiarizing themselves with the NationStates
rules of recruitment. They are to create a regional advertisement
for recruiting purposes. They should also actively seek new
residents for Star Trek while displaying the principles of our
region to all others. The responsibility of the ambassador is to
also maintain updates of regional happenings of our allies while
seeking out new allies to be recommended to the Head of State
and Chief Executive for approval by the Legislature.
Sub-section 6B: The Intelligence Director seeks out any potential
threats to the region of Star Trek. If any is found, the leadership
of the Executive Branch is to be informed immediately so a
peaceful solution can be determined. The Intelligence Director is
accountable to the Head of State.
Section 2: The Legislative Branch
Star Trek is a direct democracy. Every resident has an equal voice in
helping to choose policy for the region.
Clause 1: A resident can vote on legislation proposed by the Executives
Clause 2: To be given citizenship in Star Trek and be classfied as a citizen,
you must be part of the forum and live in Star Trek 30 days prior
to any rights of citizenship. To have citizenship verified, introduce
yourself in the forum.
Section 3: The Judicial Branch
The duty of the Judicial Branch is to preserve justice in Star Trek. It is
comprised of five judges.
Clause 1: The judges are not an elected position. It is comprised of the
founder and the four regional moderators. It is a lifetime
position.
Clause 2: Should a judge be mismissed or unable to perform his/her duties
the remaining judges will decide on an alternate.
Clause 3: If a case is brought up on a resident of Star Trek, the judges
preside over the trial. If the case involves a member of the
panel, that member will be temporarily excused until the matter
is resolved.
Clause 4: Judges are to be fair. We will not be partial to any.
Clause 5: The judiciary determines the fate of a case. If there is a need,
They will determine and execute an appropriate punishment.
Only the judges will decide, no others can or will. All residents
are innocent until proven guilty.
Article II:
Star Trek is, by nature, a peaceful region. We encourage debate and welcome
all types of nations to our realm. We encourage relations with all peoples,
regardless.
Article III:
To encourage regional unity, the nations of Star Trek are to fly the Black and Gold Star Trek Banner. You can access this by copying the flag from a native. This is not compulsary.
Article IV:
The region encourages active nations to be part of our region. This article is
deemed the "Week Rule." We require all nations to be active at least once every
seven days. If you are are found to be inactive, you will be ejected from the region. You are of course welcome back but only on the promise that you can be active. If a native knows it is going to be inactive longer than seven days, notification to the Head of State via telegram is necessary.
Article V:
If you have a grievance with a fellow resident, you can petition the judiciary to hear a case. Telegram a judge to inform them of your grievance (with evidance) and a decision will be made whether or not to proceed with a trial.
Article VI:
Star Trek has a volunteer militia that protects itself and its allies. We do not go to war if it is not declared. War can only be declared if a majority of the legilature agrees to it. If war is declared, the Intelligence Director will lead the army. Invasions will not be tolerated and rogue nations who initiate a war against another region without legislative approval is subject to judiciary trial.
Article VII:
Amendments can be made to the Constitution. Any amendment can be proposed by any member of the legislature via the forum. However, the propsed amendment must be open to seven days of debate and must be passed by 80% of the legislature.
Article VIII:
Live Long and Propser. Peace and Long Life.

1. Go to www.nationstates.net
2. On the top left of the page, you will see various links. Click "Create A Nation."
3. Create your nation!
4. After creating your nation, click "The World." Go the bottom of the page and search for "Star 5. Trek" in the Region Search Engne.
6. At the middle of the Star trek region page, you will see "Like what you see? Move (Your nation) to Star Trek today!"
7. Click it and congratulations; you've become a member of the Star Trek region!
